New E-Mail Update to the Fans

No Doubt has sent out another e-mail update to the fans who are signed up to the mailing list at nodoubt.com:

Hey No Doubters,
As you’ve seen on the band’s website and Twitter page they’re having a lot of fun writing and recording songs for the new album. Candy corn, mexican food, the beautiful view of LA and lots of late nights seem to be bringing plenty of inspiration. Make sure you’re following No Doubt on Twitter for studio photos and updates from the band.

No Doubt will take a day off from recording the new album to collaborate with the LA Philharmonic. They’ll be meeting with students from the orchestra’s Composer Fellowship Program who are creating a multi-movement piece inspired by No Doubt music. This is the first time that fellows have taken the music of a rock group as the inspiration for their compositions. The No Doubt songs up for classical reinvention are “Rock Steady,” “Suspension Without Suspense,” “Just A Girl” and “Simple Kind of Life.”

Gwen, Tony, Tom and Adrian will attend a Youth Orchestra LA rehearsal to meet the 4 composer fellows and participate in a Q&A session with other YOLA musicians and composer fellows as well. The completed piece will then be performed by the YOLA Expo Center Youth Orchestra in a free evening concert at Santee High School on Feb. 26th, 2011. No Doubt will not be attending the concert.

In other news, No Doubt ICON is now available in stores and online. The new catalog release features the same track listing as the Singles Collection, including “Hella Good,” “Don’t Speak” and “It’s My Life,” but with new artwork and at a lower price. The album is part of the ICON series which features greatest hits from the most popular artists in music for just $7.98. The No Doubt ICON release is available now at Best Buy, Barnes & Noble and other major retailers or click here to order the collection online.
As you may have seen, Adrian recently ran the 2010 New York Marathon and finished in 4 hours and 5 minutes. That’s an impressive pace for any marathon runner but even more so when you hear about the knee trouble Adrian had along the way. Gwen recently spent a day in Las Vegas unveiling her wax figure at Madame Tussaud’s. After posing for the statue nearly a year ago, Gwen was thrilled with the final result. The sculptors got everything right – from the costume to the hair color and everything in between. For more information about Madame Tussaud’s Las Vegas and Gwen’s wax figure click here.

Finally, congratulations once again to Gabrial McNair and his wife Lene on the birth of their daughter Pangea. Tony and Tom will both be following in Gabe’s footsteps as they welcome new little ones in 2011. Congratulations guys!!
