The Chiyo Dolls from Gwen’s Tea Party Have Arrived in Japan!

This is such wonderful news! Thanks so much to Japanese dollmaker Momiji for sharing on their blog, the Chiyo dolls that were handed out to guests at Gwen’s Harajuku-themed charity tea party at Royal/T Cafe back in June and which the guests decorated and included messages in to be sent to children and families affected by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan have finally arrived in Japan!! A Japanese employee of Save the Children, which the tea party benefitted and which Gwen donated $1 million to earlier this year as part of her Japanese relief efforts, shared photos of girls in Rikuzentakata receiving the dolls-they thought the dolls were super-kawai!! Endless thanks again to Gwen and the guys of No Doubt, their management,Royal/T Cafe, the tea party guests,Momiji and Save the Children for doing so much to help the Japanese earthquake and tsunami victims!!

Remember our trip to LA back in June? Following the earthquake and tsunami in Japan, Gwen Stefani asked Momiji to be part of her fabulous High Tea party to raise funds for Save the Children’s work there.

Gwen’s party guests each took time to paint a Chiyo Momiji doll, these were packaged up and sent with messages of love to children and families affected by the tsunami.

Yumi from Save the Children Japan sent us images of the packages arriving in Rikuzentakata. She said the girls thought they were super-kawaii!

Big thanks to all the fabulous guys & girls from Save the Children, No Doubt, Rebel Waltz and Royal/T who made this happen.
