The Washington Post has posted some quotes from Gwen about the Spring 2012 L.A.M.B. collection in an article about yesterday’s L.A.M.B. presentation. She said she can’t wait to get the samples so she can start wearing the clothes(we can’t wait to get our little hands on them,either!) She also said that she keeps learning and evolving as designer with each passing season and that the whole process is amazing. We cannot say enough how much we are LOVING the new collection,and we hope that Gwen is able to attend the next L.A.M.B. show. 🙂
NEW YORK — Gwen Stefani’s LAMB collection came to New York Fashion Week, even if she didn’t.
Instead of the big runway shows the line has put together the last few fashion cycles, there was a smaller presentation of two dozen styles at the Lincoln Center tents for retailers, editors and stylists. But, this is Gwen Stefani — and the line to get in was long Sunday.
She built on her vision from the fall of a hipster muse who has a richer life than nightclubs. Someone who works, someone who goes out at night — maybe even someone with little kids. Sound like anyone you know?
“I can’t wait to get my samples in so I can start wearing them!” Stefani wrote in an email.
Look for her come spring in a halter-style babydoll dress, houndstooth culottes and a checkered, utilitarian jumpsuit with a drawstring waist. The red-carpet photographers might capture her in a long black T-shirt dress with a blue vertical stripe down the middle or gold cargo shorts with a sheer black V-neck top.
Her themes, Stefani said, were the Rat Pack and the graphic black-and-white look associated with it, Indian Majaraja — that’s the gold — and bright electric colors.
“Every season I learn and evolve as a designer,” she said. “It’s been an amazing process to watch LAMB grow from just a total dream to what it is today. I still can’t believe it’s real.”
