Fans can vote for No Doubt to be nominated in the 4th annual Shorty Awards, which honor the best people and organizations on Twitter and social media. We can vote for No Doubt’s Twitter page in categories such as Band and Music, and we can also maybe try nominating Gwen in the Singer and Fashion categories. If you want, you can also vote for @EITnd in the Fansite category-many thanks if you do! Here are the instructions to nominate:
To vote, send a tweet like this: I nominate @TwitterUser (@NoDoubt) for a Shorty Award in #category because [add reason here]. You can do this using the form on our site, from Twitter itself, or from any Twitter client. (No Doubt is so awesome,we can think of LOTS of reasons to vote for them!)
You can also send shorter votes like this: #shortyawards @username #category [add reason here]. This short format is helpful when you want to vote from a party, on the road, in a meeting, or on a boat.
A tweet that ends in “because…” will not be counted.
Vote for as many different people as you want in as many categories as you want, as often as you want. Only one person and one category per tweet.
Voting for the same person in the same category more than once just replaces the text of your original vote. You can vote in any of the Featured Categories, or make up a category of your own. If a new category becomes popular, it might be turned into an Featured Category.
In each of the featured categories that are finalized when the voting closes, the six people or organizations that receive the most tweeted votes will be 2012 Shorty Awards finalists. The finalist with the most votes receives a Shorty Vox Populi (popular vote) distinction.
Several winners in the most interesting featured categories will be presented to be presented to the Real-Time Academy of Short Form Arts & Sciences, which will review the finalists’ work and decide the Shorty Award winners in those categories. These winners may be different from the Shorty Vox Populi. These Shorty Award winners will be honored at the gala awards ceremony in New York City, complete with 140-character acceptance speeches. It is possible for a finalist to win both the Shorty Award and Shorty Vox Populi in a category.
The nomination period ends February 17, 2012;the six people with the most tweeted votes will be named 2012 Shorty Awards finalists and receive Shorty Vox Populi (popular vote) distinction with the chance to be honored at a gala awards ceremony in New York City. So be sure to vote for No Doubt and spread the word to any fellow No Doubters you know!
