Diplo Talks to Fuse About Working with No Doubt

Diplo of Major Lazer recently talked to Fuse about collaborating with No Doubt (and Busy Signal) on ”Push and Shove.” As in past interviews,he mentions how the song was originally intended for a Major Lazer album, adding that he’s a huge No Doubt fan and that the song sounds like a single. Curiously, when the interviewer asks him if ”Push and Shove” will indeed be the first single,he says that a song called ”Simmer Down” will be-did he mean ”Settle Down”?! We’ll find out soon when ND makes an official announcement about the first single. He goes on to say that he may do a remix of ”Settle Down” and that ”Push and Shove” may be the second single-again,none of this has been confirmed by the band. Watch Diplo talk about working with No Doubt at 1:43 in the video below.

When Fuse’s Dan Brown chatted with Major Lazer at Bonnaroo 2012, DJ/producer Diplo (one half of the dancehall duo) shared his recent experiences of working with No Doubt and Justin Bieber on their respective upcoming albums.

He also gave us the skinny on the song he did for No Doubt’s upcoming album. “I’m a huge fan of No Doubt,” Diplo says in the video below. “We completed the record about a month ago—it sounds like a single for the album. It’s called ‘Push and Shove,’ No Doubt featuring Major Lazer. I did my first remix ever for ‘Hollaback Girl’… so big shout-out to Gwen Stefani for letting me do that back in the day.”
