Gwen just tweeted again and No Doubt has posted on the official site to ask everyone to spread the word about a fundraiser being held for Gwen’s friend and former backup dancer who also appeared in the ”Early Winter” video,Steelo Vasquez, who suffered a life-threatening brain aneurysm back in June. He unfortunately suffered four additional ruptures during surgeries and lost his ability to walk and speak and is undergoing an extensive rehabilitation program where doctors are helping him relearn basic functions. The fundraiser, being held on December 6th at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills, will help raise money for Steelo’s medical costs and to help support his wife (whom Steelo proposed to during a show on The Sweet Escape tour) and young son. No Doubt and Gwen have graciously donated items to the raffle and silent auction that will take place during the event. The fundraiser will also feature performances from some of the biggest names in the dance community including Jabbawockeez (MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew), Twitch (So You Think You Can Dance,) Team iLLuminate (America’s Got Talent) and Beat Freaks (featuring Music from the Harajuku Girls.) Much thanks to Gwen and the guys of No Doubt for continuing to be so charitable and raising awareness of this fundraiser-we send our very best wishes to Steelo and his family and hope and pray that he has a full recovery. Tickets for the fundraiser are on sale now here. For more information on the event and how to help Steelo and his family, please visit http://www.steelo444.com.

Many fans may remember the very talented dancer Steelo Vasquez who was featured in Gwen’s Early Winter video and also performed with her during The Sweet Escape Tour. Steelo recently suffered a life-threatening injury and the Los Angeles dance community is hosting a fundraiser on December 6th to benefit his recovery.
On June 19th, Steelo suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm and had to undergo emergency surgery. During the operation and subsequent surgeries, Steelo suffered four additional ruptures and lost his ability to walk and speak. Today, Steelo remains in an extensive rehabilitation program where doctors are helping him relearn basic functions. His wife Penelope has constantly been by his side during the slow recovery in ICU. It was actually during a show on Gwen’s tour that Steelo proposed to his now wife, Penelope Vazquez. Their son just celebrated his 1st birthday.
Steelo’s friends, family and doctors are hopeful that through therapy he will make a full recovery over time.
On December 6th at the Saban Theater in Beverly Hills there will be an event to raise money for Steelo’s medical costs and to help support his wife and young son. The event will feature performances from some of the biggest names in the dance community including Jabbawockeez (MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew), Twitch (So You Think You Can Dance,) Team iLLuminate (America’s Got Talent) and Beat Freaks (featuring Music from the Harajuku Girls.) There will be a raffle and silent auction as well, including items from Gwen and No Doubt.
