BLVR: How did recording with No Doubt come about?

LS: [Legendary Jamaican producers and rhythm-section drummer and bassist] Sly and Robbie called me up—they’re my darlings, I love them. They said, “No Doubt is in Jamaica and wants to do a collab.” And I said, “OK, on my way.” [Laughs] So I went to the studio, and they played me the song, and showed me where my spot was. And I started writing, and I was done in a minute. And Gwen [Stefani] and the whole group, they were all like, “Bravo! You’re so good. You’re so quick.” And it was done in a minute, and boom: it was a hit. I loved that.

BLVR: When you won the Grammy for the No Doubt collaboration, a lot of people in Jamaica were pissed that you didn’t get to go onstage to accept it.

LS: Yes—like I wasn’t a part of it. I went on a few of [No Doubt’s] shows on tour, and I mashed it up. But then when it was time for the Grammys, my name wasn’t listed. I just got a certificate, not even the real Grammy. My people called the Grammy people, and the Grammy people said they got the information from No Doubt’s people, and No Doubt’s people said they put my name there—it was a whole runaround. So when they announced we won, I was getting up to go up there onstage with my manager at the time, but the damn security guy in the aisle was like, “Where you all going?” And we were like, “We just won, and we’re going to go up there.” But by then their speech was almost done, you know. Fat Joe was sitting right there. He was nice. He said, “Don’t worry, Mama, your time will come.” He said, “It’s all right, Mama.” He was very nice about it.

But I remember when Gwen did get up there, the first thing she said was, “Thanks to Lady Saw, and Sly and Robbie.” We’re cool—we been cool. I like her personally. She’s just a cool person. We were on tour and she’d be talking about how she wanted to have babies. Girl-to-girl talk, you know. She’s cool. We’ll do something again.

By constant demand, I’m putting up No Doubt shots whenever I run by another one. Here’s a closeup of that sweet crazy young man who plays such a mean drumkit for the band, Adrian Young.
This is his normal head, before donning hair-horns, makeup, underpants, or whatever else he may decide to put on as stage gear.
A swell guy. One of the nice ones.

From The Boston Herald:

Hayley Williams is a near-perfect Gwen Stefani understudy.

She’s yet to ditch her massively popular, vaguely punk band Paramore for a solo career. But Williams has fast developed into a Stefani-like brand: gracing magazine covers, setting Hot Topic-approved fashion trends and guesting on blockbuster singles (most notably B.o.B’s everywhere-hit “Airplanes”).

The 21-year-old emo-sweetheart is flattered to be thought of as heir to Stefani’s crown: Big No Doubt fans, Paramore opened for the band on their ’09 summer tour. But she doesn’t entirely buy the comparison.

“Gwen is like, what, twice my age? And she’s still got a lot of music and more left in her,” Williams said while driving around Nashville and trying (somewhat unsuccessfully) not to run red lights. The singer was rushing around town preparing for Paramore’s biggest North American headlining tour to date. It comes to the Comcast Center in Mansfield on Wednesday.

“I want to be the first Hayley from Paramore,” she said. “Not the second Gwen Stefani.”

Williams, 21, says record execs aren’t yet clamoring for a solo record from her, which seems a little surprising. But she says she’s not about to ditch her Paramore boys: guitarist Taylor York, bassist Jeremy Davis, drummer Zac Farro and ex-boyfriend and guitarist Josh Farro (like Stefani, Williams’ ex is still her bandmate and songwriting partner).

She says her guests spots on other people’s records are about having fun, not an exit strategy.

Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani may be one of the strongest celeb couples around, but when it comes to their music, it’s a separate affair.

So will there ever be a Gwen and Gavin collaboration?

Watch the video to see what Gavin had to say on the matter as well as his musical inspirations and how he feels about being a dad.

InStyle.com has compiled a list of the most gorgeous wedding dresses of all time, and much deservingly,Gwen’s stunning John Galliano-designed gown has been named Number 2,right behind Jacqueline Kennedy’s dress.

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

InStyle compiled a list of the most beautiful wedding dresses of all time, and their choices certainly seemed fitting.

Not so surprisingly, Jacqueline Bouvier – who became Mrs John F. Kennedy at her 1953 wedding – was first on the list. The iconic fashionista wore an ivory silk taffeta gown which was designed by Ann Lowe.

Next up was Gwen Stefani, who wed rocker Gavin Rossdale in a number that embodied punk and pretty ideals all at once. The bleach-blonde babe donned a while John Galliano silk faille wedding gown that featured a dip-dyed pink train.
