For anyone who may not have seen it before,check out a MTV 20th anniverary special clip from 2001 about the rise of grunge music in the early 90s that features Gwen. She can first be seen at 5:51 when Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain’s suicide is discussed-she poignantly mentions how she and the rest of No Doubt had experienced a suicide with the death of John Spence and how a person’s first reaction to such a tragic passing is anger. And at 6:55 she mentions how Kurt could have still been inspiring poeple to write great music if he had lived.
