Wow,Gwen looked stunning, and the guys look so handsome on the red carpet at the State Department dinner gala for the Kennedy Center Honors! Hopefully more photos will show up soon!

(Reuters) – Singer Gwen Stefani (C) and her band No Doubt pose for photographers on the red carpet as they arrive at the State Department for a gala dinner for the 2010 Kennedy Center Honorees in Washington December 4, 2010.

EDIT-Here is an article from Politico about the Kenendy Center Honors-apparantly Gwen attended a luncheon honoring the inductees earlier on Saturday. There will be a brunch this morning, the day of the gala-don’t know if No Doubt will be in attendance.Interestingly, the article mentions that Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler will be performing the last four songs of The Beatles’ ”Abbey Road” album at the gala tonight to pay tribute to Paul McCartney-no word yet on what ND will be performing.

The Kennedy Center Honors officially kicked off on Saturday afternoon with a star-studded luncheon held at the waterfront music hall.

Paul McCartney (who was spotted Friday at the Four Seasons Hotel), Oprah Winfrey, Merle Haggard, Jerry Herman and Bill T. Jones attended the weekend’s first big event in their honor.

Along with many of Sunday evening’s honorees and expected celebrity presenters and performers, several other A-listers attended the luncheon. Spotted: singer Gwen Stefani; comedian Chris Rock; actress Angela Lansbury; singer Kid Rock; and actor Sidney Poitier.

On Saturday night, the five honorees will be presented with their medals at a black tie dinner held at the State Department. Come Sunday, a brunch will be hosted by CBS in their honor at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel. All this leads up to the main event on Sunday evening at the Kennedy Center.

Expected on the red carpet that night: Julia Roberts, Steven Tyler (who will perform the last four songs of “Abbey Road”) and Jennifer Hudson. But one person who won’t be walking: Sir Paul McCartney. We hear that the honoree won’t be posing for photographers outside, opting instead to take an underground route into the event.

EDIT-A couple of more pics:
