This is one of the many reasons why we love Gwen so very much:she is always so incredibly charitable. She has designed and autographed a Bugaboo stroller-the only other one of which Gwen owns herself for her children-that will go up for auction on Ebay tomorrow,December 1,which is World AIDS Day.The proceeds from the auction will benefit The Global Fund, which aims to eliminate AIDS in Africa. The auction begins at 12 PM PST tomorrow HERE and ends on December 6 at 12PM PST-good luck to anyone who places a bid.
In honor of World AIDS Day and our partnership with (RED)TM, we teamed up with world-renowned style icon Gwen Stefani, Creative Director of L.A.M.B and front woman of No Doubt, to create a custom, one-of-a-kind Bugaboo Cameleon. This exclusive Bugaboo stroller will be auctioned off to help eliminate AIDS in Africa. The auction goes live on eBay at 12 pm PST on World AIDS Day, December 1, 2010 and will run through December 5, 2010 with 100% of the proceeds going to the Global Fund.
Gwen Stefani, a long time Bugaboo supporter and mom of two, designed this unique Bugaboo Cameleon using the latest prints from her iconic fashion line L.A.M.B. The customized Bugaboo Cameleon features a floral fabric with L.A.M.B. written in a graffiti style, while the front and back of the stroller are lined in Vachetta leather trim and embellished with rounded pyramid studs. A luggage tag imprinted with L.A.M.B. completes the look.
While there will only be one winner, anyone can support (RED) by purchasing a Bugaboo product as 1% of sales across the product range are contributed to the Global Fund. With this auction Bugaboo is helping to reach the goal of eliminating mother-to-child HIV transmission by 2015.
EDIT-It’s nice to see the mainstream media mentioning the auction 🙂
One very stylish—and very lucky—tot will get the luxury of riding around in a Gwen Stefani signed and designed (Bugaboo) RED stroller. Only two of the strollers were manufactured—and Gwen owns the other one! The singer/designer created the strollers with fabric and studs from her Spring 2011 L.A.M.B. collection. The stroller goes on sale tomorrow on eBay in honor of World AIDS Day, and 100% of the sale price goes to The Global Fund, which aims to help eliminate AIDS in Africa.
PopSugar and baby sites like Essential Baby have also mentioned it.
