Video: New No Doubt Interview with Fuse

Fuse has posted a new video interview with the band that was taped last week while they were in NYC.

No Doubt have been doing the band thing for more than 25 years (!!!), and like most iconic groups, they’ve inspired a slew of cover bands across the country. The group talked to Fuse’s Alexa Chung about some of the most hilarious No Doubt cover bands they’ve encountered, but I wasn’t really paying attention—I was trying to figure out how in the hell Gwen Stefani is 43 years old. Check it out in the video above.

Below, No Doubt open up about their much anticipated upcoming album, Push and Shove, which has been in the works for more than four years. Even though Stefani embarked on her own solo career with the release of Love. Angel. Music. Baby. in 2004, the band always knew they’d end up back together. “I was doing a [solo] show,” Gwen reveals, “And these guys came on stage and did a surprise set, and it was this electric night of chemistry…and I think that was kind of the moment moment [when we wanted to get back into the studio].”

Gwen admits she “had to do the mom thing” so recording Push and Shove took quite a bit longer than anticipated: “I had a new baby, so I would have him up all night…plus my other commitments. I would [start working on the music] at four in the afternoon and you’re just hoping something’s going to happen. And if it doesn’t, you just feel like such a jerk, like you let everybody down. Like, ‘I didn’t write something tonight.'” But they got it done—Push and Shove is due out September 25.
