Thanks to Instagram’s heypaulfrank and mignardisesla for sharing photos of a cool t-shirt that Eric Stefani designed in 1994 for Frank’s former band, The Birdhouse Four. Frank explains that he commissioned Eric to design the shirt based on the look of Eric’s animations for The Ren & Stimpy Show as well as No Doubt’s album art style. He goes on to say that he loved how it turned out and that he also used the artwork on wallets.
Throwback Thursday Repost from my friend Minh @mignardisesla of a t-shirt she still has from my old band The Birdhouse Four. In 1994 my friend Eric @extratallcat was an animator on the Ren & Stimpy Show so I commissioned him to draw this design for me based on the look of the show along with his band’s album art style. I couldn’t have been happier with how it turned out. This was actually the first art I put on wallets. This was a year or so before I created Julius the monkey. Thanks Minh for helping out band get the shirts and thank you Eric for the cool art! #grateful #renandstimpy #johnkricfalusi #nodoubt #bandmerch #paulfrank #localbands #tbt
