here is just an excerpt from a fragrance study:

Fresh Subtle Citrus = Turn-On

Our guy testers gave the thumbs-down to perfumes with overwhelming notes of orange or lemon, but fragrances with just a hint of citrus mixed with a soft floral scent got the A-OK. “It’s sassy, it’s got a kick,” one guy said about Clinique’s aptly named Hint of Citrus solid fragrance. “I could see a girl with attitude wearing it.” Hermès Un Jardin Après La Mousson and L L.A.M.B. Fragrance by Gwen Stefani both balance blossom notes with a fresh, fruity scent.

Washington (ANI): Singer Gwen Stefani has been named the ‘Top Celebrity Designer’ in a new US magazine poll. The ‘Sweet Escape’ hitmaker pushed Justin Timberlake to the second spot to land the glory. The pop stars clashed on the new In Touch Weekly Hottest Celebrity Designers list, reports Contactmusic.

It was Stefani’s LAMB. fashion line, which is a favourite for stylish stars like Paris Hilton, that made her nab the top spot. She beat the William Rast line Timberlake shares with pal Trace Ayala into second place, with Hilton, Victoria Beckham and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs rounding out the top five.

Singer/designer Gwen Stefani, known for her love of red lipstick and teen style from Japan’s trendy Harajuku neighborhood, will produce the uniforms for W Hotels bar staff in connection with L.A.M.B., one of her two fashion collections. W and L.A.M.B. are expected to announce the deal in a few days. The uniforms–short dresses made of washable black jersey–will debut in December or early next year.

The Stefani/W Hotel partnership grew out of the luxury hotelier’s sponsorship of a Fashion Week lounge where celebs can escape from the hoi polloi and the flashbulbs.

“Gwen Stefani was in our lounge last season, and through that relationship she’s doing uniforms for the [Rande] Gerber bars located in W Hotels,” said Jenni Benzaquen, director of public relations for W Hotels, who declined to discuss terms of the deal.

This partnership is another way W gets a return on its sponsorship of Fashion Week and the backstage lounge, now in its tenth season. So far this week, J. Lo and Gossip Girls Blake Lively and Leighton Meester have stopped in, lending their wattage to the W brand.

W already outfits its employees in style, with Michael Kors’ designed mix and match separates. And Gerber has his own elite fashion connections as husband of supermodel Cindy Crawford.

The ever-platinum busy mom Gwen Stefani rocks her retro movie-star look through many moods and music styles (reggae to dance-hall to pop, baby!). With fame, family, and her L.A.M.B. fashion line, she relies on a secret stash to stay fragrant and fiercely feminine.

1. Pantene Pro-V Style Sheer Volume Hairspray, Ricky’s smooth and bungee elastics: “I like to play with my hair. When you’re pregnant, you’re tempted to change your style radically. I’ve had to resist!”

2. Harajuku Lovers fragrances in G, Lil’ Angel, Music, Love, Baby: “Each bottle is a replica of one of my backup dancers–who I miss so much now that we’re not on tour! I wanted Baby to have a baby-powdery scent and G to be fruity.”

3. L.A.M.B. Linstead clutch: “Of course, I’m always carrying a L.A.M.B. bag.”

4. MAC Matte Lipstick in Russian Red: “My husband loves me in red lipstick, and I still just want to impress him.”

5. MAC Fawntastic Cream Colour Base: “We used this at the last L.A.M.B. show.”

6. Kiehl’s Cucumber Essence: “I lean toward scented oils that are sweet–like cucumber, coconut, pear. Musky scents are too serious.”

“Even when we played with punk-rock bands, I was always girly. The best part is getting made up and then sweating it all off during the concert.”

Gwen Stefani says she doesn’t care what people think of her outfits as long as her husband Gavin Rossdale is happy.

The ‘It’s My Life’ hitmaker — who is often revered as one of the world’s most stylish women — insists she only dresses to impress her spouse.

Gwen — who is expecting her second child with the former Bush frontman — said, “Gavin doesn’t like certain colours. He really hates beige so I don’t wear anything beige. He would never ask me to take something off, but I definitely want him to think that I look cute. His opinions have definitely influenced my look over the years.”

The No Doubt singer, 38, recently admitted her passion for fashion is still as strong as ever, and she loves creating new garments for her label L.A.M.B.

She said, “I’m in love with my fashion label L.A.M.B. The reason I started my label was to have something creative in my life other than music. I have to pinch myself every day when I think how far things have come for me.”

Gwen Stefani

Gwen Stefani

Born October 3, 1969 in Fullerton, California, Gwen Stefani started her career as the lead singer of ska punk band No Doubt.

Influenced by then-boyfriend Tony Kanal’s Indian heritage, Stefani began to wear a bindi, and helped popularize the look during the success of the band’s breakthrough album, “Tragic Kingdom.” From these early days as a fashion trendsetter came the desire to start her own line of clothing.

Her first line, L.A.M.B debuted in 2003, right before the release of her first solo album, “Love Angel Music Baby,” which is what L.A.M.B stands for. The high-end collection included clothes and accessories that were influenced by Stefani’s irreverent style and attitude.

Two years later she started the Harajuku Lovers line, which she says is a “glorified merchandise line.” It included a set of Love.Angel.Music.Baby dolls that featured the Harajuku Girls, who Stefani toured with extensively in support of her album. The also appeared on the cover of the album and had the tour named after them.

The lines contain a lot of Asian influence, with the Harajuku Lovers being a reference to the Harajuku Station in Tokyo, Japan. The Asian aesthetic is mixed with more classic and chic influences for a unique look that has made the two lines one of the most successful of the ever-growing number of celebrity fashion labels.
